It has been a great weekend for Seven Fields Farm & Orchard. We were invited to the Stop’s Farmers’ Market at Wychwood Barns in Toronto as a vendor to feature our heritage apples and introduce ourselves to the world of weekend farmers’ markets. This kind invitation was extended by Cookie Roscoe, manager of the Stop’s Farmers’ Market and the weekly market at SickKids Hospital in downtown Toronto. Being a vendor for the first time was a truly unique and highly rewarding experience for us as a new farm. We were grateful for the experience and had the opportunity to network with farmers from across the province who shared their experiences, stories, and friendly advice. There is a very real expansion of farmers’ markets in urban centres and towns across Ontario, and it is our hope that one day we can be a regular feature at a farmer’s market near you. A heartfelt thank you to all who stopped by our table, and to those who gave us so much support and encouragement. Even on a such a cold and windy day we had a great time.
